Brent Reiber started his career as an ice hockey judge in 1980 at the age of 13 and led in subsequent games in various junior leagues. From 1984 to 1986, he directed the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and the Canada West Universities Athletic Association. Subsequently he was given the opportunity to work as an umpire in the Junior League Western Hockey League, where he worked until 1995. Subsequently, he led the Memorial Cup, the final tournament for the title of the Canadian Hockey League. He then played for six months in the Japan Ice Hockey League before the Canadians moved to Switzerland in 1997, where he has since worked as a professional referee for the Swiss Ice Hockey Association in the National League A. He also participated in the IIHF Referee Exchange Program in the 2005/06 season and was used in other European top leagues. In the 2008/09 season he was able to lead the Champions Hockey League at European level.
Since 1996, Reiber has also been involved in international tournaments for the IIHF. From 2005 to 2009 he was employed at A-World Championships, as well as at the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver. His last season he whistled in the National League A 2014.
