Germaine Lebel (singer)


Germaine Lebel (born March 22, 1894 in Montreal, France, June 14, 1972 in Montreal) was a Canadian singer (soprano).

The daughter of singer Édouard LeBel and niece of the composer Charles Labelle studied singing with Alfred La Liberté. Apart from works La Libertés included their repertoire & a. Music by Claude Debussy and Nikolai Medtner. In addition, she sang often arrangements of folk music. In 1923, she appeared in the premiere of Guillaume Coutures Jean le Précurseur in the role of Salomé. She has contributed to numerous CBC broadcasts. Edit source source text
