Carnival committee of the town of Eschweiler

The carnival committee of the town of Eschweiler e.V. is the committee of the 22 carnival societies of the town of Eschweiler in the city of Aachen in the western Rhineland. The President is Norbert Weiland. The seat is Eschweiler. Edit HistoryQual

In 1850, the "Eschweiler Fratzenschneider-Verein" conducted a relocation and a "Grand Maskenball" in Eschweiler with the approval of the "Royal Government, Department of the Interior". In the following years, the "Ordinary Comitee" (another spelling: Comité) of the already existing "Eschweiler Carnevals-Verein" organizes the Rosenmontagszüge. In addition to the presidencies of the respective associations, this committee also includes respected citizens of Eschweiler. The Mayor (1858 Eschweiler Stadtrechte) participates as either an honorary member or as patron at the committee advisory.

In 1930, a so-called "Rosenmontage committee" was constituted for the first time from the then only five avid carnival societies. In 1933, it organized the first anniversary of the Rosenmontage after the First World War. In 1938, the town of Eschweiler and this "Rosenmontagzugzug-Committee" became a member of the newly founded "Bundesdeutscher Karneval" (German Carnival).
