AFTN

AFTN (an acronym for Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network) is an international telecommunication network used to exchange messages and information related to air traffic. The AFTN Communications Center operates within the ANSP organization.

The AFTN network was originally designed for teletype, but is now part of a heterogeneous telecommunications network in which the final participants also communicate with fax or e-mail, although it is now connected to other data networks example, CIDIN) used for effective air traffic management.
