Absidia is a genus of mushrooms of the family Mucoraceae within the order Mucorales. Species

The species A. corymnifera (Mucor rhizopodiformis) and others are pathogenic for laboratory animals and can cause generalized or localized mycosis in humans.

The species A. ramosa (Mucor ramosus) is pathogenic to man, grows on bread and withered vegetables, and causes otomycosis and sometimes mucomycosis.
