American Society of Public Administration

The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) is a membership association in the United States sponsoring conferences and providing professional services primarily for those who study the application of government policies , public administration, and, to a lesser extent, civil society programs. Its annual conference is an important meeting for those interested in bureaucracy and other public administration issues, such as budgeting and budget theory, strategic government planning, staff management, and related issues.

The ASPA was founded in 1939, following growing concern about the management of the federal government and the Brownlow Committee report.
