Marcel (song)

"Marcel" was the German song at the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest, performed in German by Heidi Brühl.

The song was performed in the third place of the night (following Annie Palmen from the Netherlands with "Een speeldoos" and before Carmela Corren from Austria with "Vielleicht geschieht ein Wunder"). When closing the voting had received 9 points, placing in 5º place of 16.

The song is sung from the perspective of a young woman telling her partner (Marcel) that she is going too fast for her. He says that "only a gentleman has a chance with me" and that he needs to respect it.
