José Antonio Rodríguez Callejón, "Maxi"


José Antonio Rodríguez Callejón, known in the world of sport as Maxi, is a former Spanish footballer born in Berja (Almería) on February 21, 1948. Biography and trajectory

Forged as a cadet and youth in teams from the province of Almeria to reach the Almeria Sports Association Almeria, which then made its way to the First Division. He would leave this equipment to play in the Real Oviedo in the season 1972-1973, participating in the promotion of the equipment to First, category in which it was maintained during two seasons more. He fought in his lines for five subsequent seasons, receiving the Prize for Regularity.

From there he would return again to AD Almeria, whose promotion to the First Division also contributed. It played with this equipment in the maximum category of Spanish soccer in the seasons 1979-1980 and 1980-1981, before retiring.

Played an average defense of just over 75 minutes per game and almost 20 games per season, with a total of 78 games in the First Division of the LFP.

In November 2006 he was awarded the Golden Shield of the City of Almeria.
