Global Citizenship

'Global Civics' suggests understanding civics in a global sense, as a social contract between every citizen of the world in an era of interdependence and interaction. The diffusers of the concept define it as an idea that we all have certain rights and responsibilities towards others by the mere fact of being human on earth.

Proponents of the idea try to demonstrate that it is possible to imagine a global citizenship. According to this concept, in an increasingly interdependent world the world citizen needs a compass to act on a global scale and thus create a shared consciousness and a single sense of global responsibility related to specific issues such as environmental problems and nuclear weapons.
