Giovanni Nevizzano


Giovanni Nevizzano was an Italian jurisconsult of the sixteenth century, born in Asti and died in 1540.

He studied jurisprudence in Padua and Turin, where he taught later. He is author of the first attempt of juridical bibliography, titled Index scriptorum in utroque jure (Lyon, 1522), continued by Gómez, Fichard, Ziletti and Freymon; Sylvae nuptialis (Paris, 1521, 5th edition 1584), book in which they alternate the rational and the extravagant; Consilia (Lyon, 1559).
