Femme (sculpture)

Femme, also known as Woman or Dona, is a sculpture by Catalan artist Joan Miró created in 1981 and exhibited in the Vestibule of the House of the City of Barcelona (Spain) in 1983. History

The work was done by the multifaceted artist Joan Miró in Foundry Parellada in 1981 and offered to the Town Hall of his city in 1983, shortly before his death. At that time, Mayor Narcís Serra (PSC) had already begun transforming the Vestibule of the House of the City of Barcelona into an art museum open to the public that over the years would be expanded with numerous works by leading artists .

The figure, which follows the pattern of the symbolic universe of the artist despite being part of the last epoch, has a conical shape where two small curved appendages instead of arms can be seen at the top. Also prominent are glutes, a seed-shaped concavity in her belly, a prominent cut at the level of the sternum and a lunar scar on the right side of the face. Bibliography
