Christmas slaughter

Christmas slaughter is the name of an express train bombing 904 on the afternoon of December 23, 1984 that killed 16 people and injured around 200 others. Officials of terrorist attack were the mafiosos Giuseppe Calò, Guido Cercola and Franco Di Agostino.

This attack was to divert attention from the revelations given by several mafia informers, including Tommaso Buscetta.

In April 2011 Salvatore Riina was accused of ordering the bombing, but was acquitted in 2015. Note
