Rickey Minor

Rickey Minor is an American music director, songwriter and record producer. He is known especially for being musical director and of the orchestra of the television program The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Minor was born in Louisiana and grew up in Los Angeles. A fundamental part of his musical education has been self-taught.

Minor has worked as a musical director on tours of numerous stars such as Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Ray Charles, Alicia Keys, and Beyonce, and for television productions such as the Grammy Awards, the NAACP Image Awards and the Super Bowl. In addition, he has also been musical director of American Idol and director of the orchestra of the program Do not Forget the Lyrics! of the Fox television network.

Minor lives in southern California with his wife Karen Denise and son Sean Anthony. In January 2009 his book There's No Traffic on the Extra Mile was published. Notes
