Emil of Fuerth


Emil von Fuerth (* 7 September 1863 in Strakonitz, Bohemia, † 17 August 1911 in Hornbæk, Denmark) was an Austrian politician. He was active in local and social policy. Edit LifeQualtext

Fürth studied law and completed his doctorate. After that he went to politics, and from 1904 to 1910 he represented a bourgeois-liberal group in the Viennese town council, where he was the social-political party. As a specialist for housing provision, he earned his services at the 9th International Housing Reform Congress, which took place in Vienna in 1910. He was also a sponsor of the Vienna Volksbildungsverein.

Emil von Fürth died of a swimming accident in Denmark. In 1930 the Fürthweg in Vienna-Hietzing was named after him. He was married to Ernestine von Fürth, born Kisch, a leading representative of the bourgeois movement in Austria.
