Dictionary of Greek and Roman Antiquities

A Dictionary of Greek and Roman Antiquities is the title of an English language encyclopedia first published in 1842 and later revised in multiple editions until 1890. Covering laws, religion, architecture, war, everyday life and the like primarily since the point of view of the classicists, was part of a series of works on the classic antiquity of William Smith, covering other people, mythology and places. It has about one million words in any edition, and all of them are currently in the public domain.

Two short editions of the original are also available online, complete: A Smaller Dictionary of Greek and Roman Antiquities (1865) and A School Dictionary of Greek and Roman Antiquities (1864).
