More Pitarra

Mas Pitarra is a work of the municipality of Cervelló (Baix Llobregat) included in the Inventory of Architectural Heritage of Catalonia. Description

It is a complex of constructions of different eras next to the road that leads to Can Sala de Baix. The facade faces northeast. The oldest part has a hinged portal, right at the angle where two more modern buildings are attached. In the first construction there is a recessed arch portal and a balcony with a deer inside a circle on the lintel. The next body opens a door with a window on both sides; the three openings are of semicircular arch and are framed by columns and capitals. Above the door is the figure of a lion and the first floor there are two low arch doors, with columns and capitals, facing a balcony. On the left side there is a pot with glazed pottery. The whole is closed with a fence with a work base. History

Until the mid-nineteenth century, the oldest was the rectory of the parish of Santa María de Cervelló. When the new rectory was finished, it acquired the house of the writer Frederic Soler Hubert, "Serafí Pitarra", who preserved and enlarged it giving the configuration that it has until today.
