Juan de la Cierva (Getafe)


The neighborhood of Juan de la Cierva is a neighborhood of Getafe (Community of Madrid, Spain). Its name was put in honor to the famous engineer who worked in Getafe. It is the second most populous neighborhood of the city with 32,160 inhabitants, the second most extensive with 12,072 homes and one of the most important and influential of the municipality. It occupies the center-northeast of the municipality and has avenues and squares very commercial and crowded by the Getafenses. The neighborhood was built in the mid-1970s in order to enlarge the city. It has a civic center, the Municipal School of Music and the fairground. At the moment it has the Juan de la Cierva station of Line 12 (Metrosur) of the network of Metro of Madrid and many bus lines that cross the neighborhood. Avenida de EspaƱa, with a Metro station.
