Cibofobia

Cyberphobia or cyborophobia is fear or aversion to eating. It is often a symptom that can be found in psychiatric diseases and may be caused by some organic pathologies, such as pyloric obstruction, intestinal ischemia or neoplasias. These complications are ruled out by endoscopy.

In many cases, aversion is the consequence of discomfort after food intake (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain). In other words, the patient has experienced post-meal discomfort on repeated occasions and is afraid to eat .

Cyberphobia can be caused by emetophobia, fear of vomiting, where the person who has the phobia worries that food has harmful pathogens that can cause vomiting.

Inadequate consistent diet leads to significant weight loss, which should be differentiated from that generated by some diseases such as neoplasias. Bibliography
