Anne Phillips


Anne Phillips (born June 2, 1950 in Lancaster) is a British political scientist. Since 1999 she teaches as a professor for gender studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She conducts research on feminist perspectives from the point of view of democratic theory. Their research is one of the foundations of feminist political science.

Phillips studied political science and philosophy at the University of Bristol and the University of London, where she was promoted in 1982 with a work on British colonial policy. Since 1975, she has taught political science at London Guildhall University, and in 1999 she was appointed to the Chair of Gender Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
