Allosterisches Zentrum

An allosteric or regulatory center is a region of an enzyme that can bind a regulator that affects enzyme activity as an allosteric activator or inhibitor. The binding of the allosteric regulator leads to a conformational change of the enzyme, which affects the active center and thus leads to the activation or inhibition of the enzyme. In contrast to competitive inhibition, the allosteric center is spatially separated from the active center and is often located in another domain or subunit of the enzyme. Edit source text
