Poppo I. (Istrien)

Count Poppo I (* before 1012; † 13th July around 1044) from the House Weimar was Markgraf in Istria (1012-1044). He is also named as Markgraf von Krain, and also as margrave of (Lower) Carinthia by various sources. Edit LifeQualtext

Poppo's father was Wilhelm II of Weimar. Poppo married Hadamut (Hadamuot, also called Azzika), the daughter of Count Werigant (Weriant, Wezzelin, † 1051?) Of Istria-Friuli and the Willibirg daughter of the Siegharding Count Ulrich von Ebersberg († 1029) the Mark was Krain. Hadamut († after 1040) brought him the peninsula of Istria as a dowry.
