Osamu Akimoto


Osamu Akimoto is a mangaka born on December 11, 1952 in Tokyo, Japan. Akimoto is best known for the series Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo published in the magazine Shōnen Jump. The series left in the year 1976 and with her an adaptation was made to the anime. Akimoto won the Shōgakukan award in 2005.

In 2016 he received the Kan Kikuchi award in his 42nd edition for his work Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo, for keeping it serialized without interruption for 40 years. The prize was awarded by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Literature and Bungei Shunjū magazine, for the same reason it was awarded the "Special Prize" in the 21st edition of the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.
