Marco Emilio Lépido (consul 285 BC)

Marco Emilio Lépido (in Latin, Marcus Aemilius Lepidus) was a Roman politician in the first third of the third century BC. C.

M. Emilio Lépido was consul in the year 285 a. C., but its name is only in the phastos. Of his mandate nothing is known.

He was the first carrier of the cognomen Lepidus (in Latin, delicate), between the gens Emilia. The Aemilii Lepidi belonged up to the early imperial era to the main families of Rome. The son or grandson of this Lepidus was probably the homonymous consul of the year 232 a. C.
