José Ruy Gonçalves Lopes OFMCap (born August 6, 1967 in Feira de Santana) is a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Jequié. Edit LifeQualtext

José Ruy Gonçalves Lopes joined the Order of the Capuchins, renounced his profession on 10 January 1988, and received priestly ordination on 5 December 1993.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Jequié on July 4, The Bishop of Salgueiro, Magnus Henrique Lopes OFMCap, gave him the bishop's ordination on 7 September of that year.
