The publication, whose first issue appeared in 1945, was published in the North African city of Sidi Ifni - in the origin of the weekly part of West Africa Spanish and from 1958 part of the small province of Ifni- with a weekly periodicity. AOE was founded by the governor of West Africa, José Bermejo López, aimed at the Spanish settlers, to the detriment of the native population, in which the civilizing role of Spain in the region was apologized and attempts were made to legitimize Spanish possession The signing of the treaty of Fez would put an end to its publication, since its last number dates from 31 December 1968.
