Papyrus Oxyirrinco 87 also called P. Oxy. 87 is a document on an affidavit by a shipowner, written in Greek. The manuscript was written on papyrus in the form of a leaf. It was discovered in Oxirrinco, Egypt. The document was written between February 25 and March 26, 342. It is currently housed in the Sackler Library, England.

Document

The document contains an affidavit, addressed to Flavio Dionysarius, a logistes. It was written by Aurelio SerapiĆ³n, owner of a boat. He states that he is willing to go to "the most illustrious city of Alexandria" to testify in an official inquiry to be held there. Measurements of the fragment are 252 by 225 mm. The document has been preserved in a very fragmented state. Originally it contained a series of statements under oath, but only one has survived.

It was discovered by Grenfell and Hunt in 1897 in Oxirrinco. The text was published by Grenfell and Hunt in 1898.
