D4L (band)

D4L is a Atlanta crunk group composed of Fabo, Mook-B, Stoney and Shawty Lo and Jizzy B. The group formed in 2003, but until the end of 2005 they did not emerge thanks to the single "Laffy Taffy", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2006. His debut album, Down for Life, was released on November 8, 2005, and was signed by Mike Jones's label Ice Age Entertainment.

D4L has had a controversy with another group from Atlanta, Dem Franchize Boyz, whom D4L accuse of stealing their dance (called "Snap Dance"). In the remix of the D4L theme "Laffy Taffy," Busta Rhymes says "I heard a couple of niggas been tryin 'to take the dance and'all niggas created" (I heard a couple of black people try to copy the dance that you created ). If that were not enough, on the new single, "Betcha Can not Do It Like Me", D4L begins by saying "you fuckin 'thieves," (fucking thieves) referring to DFB.

D4L is one of many groups that have broken into this new era, dancing, but criticized for their blatant materialism and extremely simple production methods. As an alternative to this, they are considered the pioneers of a new subgenre of rap, the snap.
