Susanne Bauckholt


Susanne Bauckholt (born September 24, 1965 in Berlin) is a former German sailing champion.

Together with Katrin Adlkofer, Susanne Bauckholt formed a sailing crew for teenagers over 15 years, with Bauckholt sitting and steering on the tiller. During her career, she won five times the Kiel Week, and in 1987 and 1989, the World Sail Championships. In 1994 and 1996 she became World Champion. In addition, she won the bronze medal at the 1996 470 European Championship. She started twice at the Olympic Games (Seoul 1988 and Atlanta 1996) and finished fifth in the 470 Jolle.

After she married her husband Christian, she adopted his family name. In 1988, she started as a Meyer at the Olympic Games and in 1996 as a Bauckholt.
