Bartholomew Augustine "B.A." Santamaria, known as Bob (August 14, 1915 - February 25, 1998), was an Australian political activist and journalist, one of the most influential political figures of the 20th century in Australian history, yet never occupied a public office or joined a political party. He was a figure who divided the groups, inspired a great evociĆ³n in its followers and an intense hatred in its enemies. He considered his own career a failure, but at his death he was widely praised for his opposition to communism. Santamaria was an unofficial leader and had a great influence guiding the Democratic Labor Party.
