Mirza Ghulam Ahmad

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (February 13, 1835 - May 26, 1908) was the founder of the Ahmadiyyah community (an Islamic sect). He was born in Qadian a small town that is located in the northwest of India. In 1882 he proclaimed himself to be a Mujaddid (reformer of Islam) of the fourteenth century. When he announced in 1890, to be the "Promised Messiah" and "Imam Mahdi", according to Islamic and Christian writings and prophecies, he suffered rejection and opposition from Orthodox Muslims. His postulate is the basis of the Ahmadía Community of Islam, which he founded on March 23, 1889 in Qadian. Its main work is "Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya". Ahmad is believed to be the author of the theory that Christ did not die on the cross but was brought alive into the tomb and then fled from Palestine and from the jurisdiction of Rome and end up dying in India, near the Hindu Kush Mountains. This theory completely undermines Christian belief in the resurrection of Jesus.
