The Federation of German Psychologist Associations (GbR) is a federation of the Association of German Psychologists (BDP) and the German Society for Psychology (DGPs) as a scientific association in psychology. This merger was necessary since in many international bodies only one association per country can represent the field of psychology and there are also numerous coordination tasks between science and practice (professional guidelines, ethics guidelines, quality assurance) at the national level. Accreditation of further training curricula is one of the tasks of the Federation.

The Joint Board of the Federation consists of the presidents and a further member of the board of both federations. The Presidency changes every year, in the even years the BDP holds the presidency, in the odd the DGPs.

The Federation is a member of the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS), the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations (EFPA) and the International Test Commission (ITC).
