Church of St. Mary (Lillehammer)


The Church of St. Mary (in Norwegian: Mariakirken på Lillehammer) is a religious building belonging to the Catholic Church and is the parish church of St. Mary in Lillehammer the administrative capital and largest city of the province of Oppland in southern Norway.The parish includes Oppland County and Ringsaker Township in Hedmark County. The church is located in Suttestad, an area south of the city of Lillehammer.

The church was built in 1970 according to the plans of architect Carl Corwin. The church was established the same year, having been a private chapel since 1956. After 40 years in 2010, the church was consecrated by Bishop Bernt Eidsvig. Then the altar was consecrated with the relics, and the church was officially launched.
