Askomill House

Askomill House, also Askomull House, was a firm house north-east of Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula in the Scottish administrative unit Argyll and Bute. Edit HistoryQual

Angus MacDonald, 8th of Dunnyveg, was encircled in Askomill House in Kintyre in 1598 by 100-200 men under the leadership of his son, Sir James MacDonald, 9th of Dunnyveg, who had been sent by the Privy Council to the Subjugation of his father under King James V. Angus MacDonald refused to leave his house and suffered burn injuries after his son lit the house. He was later captured and placed in Iron on Smerby Castle. Single-level Edit source text
