EATWOT is the abbreviation for the Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians, such as the Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians. This association was founded in 1976 in Daressalam, Tanzania. Today, it includes theologians from different Christian churches and denominations, as well as from all parts of the world, especially from Africa, Asia and Latin America. There are regional groups of EATWOT in these three continents, as well as a regional group of ethnic minorities in North America.

EATWOT is liberation-theological, which means that the members of the Association are working to provide their theology with solutions to the economic, social, political and cultural situation of the people in whose countries they live.

The aims of the Association are to promote a better exchange between theologians and theologians of the South, to deepen the theological work on all continents, and to dialogue with the concrete lives of the people of the various regions of the world. To this end, regional and global meetings, conferences and seminars are organized as well as publications and translations. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
