Stone was a mass unit and weight as a trade weight in various regions of Europe, as in the Netherlands (Steen), Germany, in particular Northern Germany, Poland (Kamień), England (Stone) and Sweden. The measure already known in the 17th century was quite different and dependent on the subject. In Braunschweig they were distinguished in light and heavy stone and in Königsberg in the small and large stone. Also, there was a difference between the size of large or heavy stone and Kramer weight. If flax and wool were weighed, two different stones, which were only half as heavy as wool, were used. The measure stone was very popular in the textile industry. Examples Edit source text Single-level Edit source text
