Fernando Martínez Pedrosa


Fernando Martínez Pedrosa or de la Pedrosa (Madrid, 1830 - id., 1892) was a Spanish writer, journalist and playwright of Realism.

He collaborated in The Universal Museum, Politics, Nation and Good Sense, and directed The Doctor to Palos and the Catholic Enlightenment. In 1865 impelled with Eduardo Bustillo the Magazine of Theaters. He used the pseudonyms "El Conde de Cabra" and "So-and-so" among others. Very gifted for the short narration, he composed an excellent volume of stories, Intimate Tales (1864), Profiles and Colors: Satire of Customs (1882) and Shadows, Traits of Social Physiognomy (1878), a collection of essays on politics , public opinion, theater, education, the feminine condition and so on. It also emphasized like a dramatic author who cultivated all the genres, with the comedies The box of Pandora (1872), in prose; (1861), The Network of Flowers (1861), Of taste there is nothing written: Proverb in one act (1863) 1875, reprinted in 1890), The Hills of Úbeda. In verse wrote Estrella; Spanish legend (1856) and Clouds and Flowers; verses (1873, with prologue by Ramón de Campoamor), as well as Salon Dialogues ... representable poems, loose scenes (1887).
