European office for language minorities

The European Bureau for Lesser-Used Languages (EBLUL) was a non-governmental organization working for minority and regional languages in Europe. The EBLUL was founded in 1982. On 27 January 2010, the Board of Directors decided to terminate it as the financing of such an organization was not appropriate to the present circumstances. The impact of this decision on subsidiary organizations, some of which are separate legal entities, is still unclear.

The chairman of the German EBLUL subsidiary is Saterfriese Karl-Peter Schramm. Cornelia Nath, the East Frisian, is also a member of the board of the EBLUL. The languages spoken in Germany are Danish, Northern and Sater Frisian, Upper Sorbian, Lower Sorbian, Romanes and Low German. The Danish offshoot is the German North Silesian Gösta Toft. German is the only language in Denmark. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
