Canario Workers Union

The Canario Workers' Union (SOC) is a Spanish trade union organization of the left, nationalist canary.

It began to organize clandestinely in the last years of the Franco dictatorship, around different offices of labor lawyers and the heat of the workers' struggles that were taking place at the time in the Canaries. It is also linked to the boom that Canarian nationalism has in the 1970s, especially the one that will soon gather around the Union of the Canary People. In 1977 the Canary Workers' Union was legalized.

In 1993, it will meet with various national-popular trade union organizations in Intersindical Canaria.

The gradual disenchantment with the work of Intersindical Canaria, will cause a sector of the former SOC to disconnect from Intersindical and try to resort to the name of Syndicate Obrero Canario. Given the impossibility of registering with the old name, the Trade Union Workers' Front of the Canary Islands (FSOC) is created along with other trade union sectors.

The FSOC is part of the World Federation of Trade Unions.
