Express Maule
Rural Express of Maule was a passenger rail service commencing its Operations on June 7, 2012 of Central Train, a subsidiary company of the State Railways Company was created to support high passenger demand. It united the city of Santiago with the city of Linares Region of the Maule also benefiting to the population of the cities of Rancagua, San Fernando, Curicó and Talca and the communes of Graneros, Rengo, Molina, San Javier and Linares. The service was created to give you the opportunity to travel more comfortably and quickly to people from villages that do not have easy access to approach transportation.
Metrotren UT-440 trains are used for the service, and from Linares it starts early in the morning to the Central Station and returns in the afternoon to the Maule region, which is added with tickets purchased during the day and values which were very convenient for the population, thus accessing a fast, safe and economical train service.
From July 6, 2015, it was decided to suspend the service temporarily alluding mainly for work on the roads for a period of 6 months, in addition to the work of the Metrotren Rancagua project which is the main reason for the modernization of rolling stock and, Infrastructure from the Rancagua Metropolitan Region and the Commune of Nos. However, after the completion of the works of the same service was not restored, meeting the 06-01-2016 date as the deadline being fulfilled the date indicated by State Railways, currently the State Company has not yet pronounced for the future of this service, lasting 3 years of Operations which can currently be considered suspended, despite the high demand of its users.
