Eva, the great Argentine musical

Eva, the great Argentine musical is a production directed by Nacha Guevara, written by Pedro Orgambide and musicalized by Alberto Favero. Composed in 1986, the show returned to the stage 22 years later with more production, being premiered at the Teatro Argentino de La Plata.

History of the musical

The musical premiered in 1986 at Maipo Theater, where it was eight months in the making. the gestation of the musical is the fruit of seven years of working together among the authors. During this time they had the opportunity to talk to composers Harold Prince (director of the apocryphal Evita), Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, as well as several Peronist-related figures. These encounters were nourished by stories, anecdotes and intimate X-rays of Eva Peron. The intention of the authors was to present a "character in an objective, human, without demonizing or enduring it," says Pablo Gorlero in the complete article of the Nation. File
