Endovenöse Lasertherapie

Endovenous laser therapy is a minimally invasive or surgery-inducing method for the treatment of varicose veins. Surgical incisions such as vein stripping are not required with this method. Through a small point of puncture, a catheter is inserted into the vein under ultrasonic control to the point to be treated. Through this Venenkatheter, the vein laser, which is only 2-3 millimeters thick, is then inserted into the vein. Due to the laser irradiation, the inner wall of the vein is heated to approx. 70 degrees Celsius and is therefore intentionally damaged. The treated vein adheres after the treatment, which closes the vein and the diseased reflux of the venous blood (reflux) is avoided. The occluded vein hardens first and forms completely over the course of a few months and is decomposed by the body or converted into connective tissue. Endovenous laser therapy is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Normally the patient can resume his / her usual activity immediately after the procedure. Further advantages compared to the invasive stripping method are the good cosmetic results, since scalpel sections can be dispensed with and thus scar formation is avoided. Wearing compression stockings for one week reduces the formation of bruises and supports the healing of the treated venous sections. In addition, thrombosis prophylaxis may be performed over a period of approximately eight days. Edit sourcetext
