Curamilla

According to legend, in ancient times there was a mysterious and beautiful young woman, who lived in a mysterious cave; that according to tradition, beyond where the cavern is currently blocked, as a result of the 1960 earthquake that hit southern Chile, a person could reach the interior of the earth. This cave is located in the area near Lake Cucao, following the course of the river. It is said that this young woman every summer, always at dawn, came out of this mysterious cavern and was going to swim in the lake. This young woman was so beautiful that always after the young woman emerged from the water, a large and mysterious stone emerged from the lake to observe her. This stone was the magic Curamilla, that was inhabiting in that lake; which when looking to observe the young woman, with it also attracted happiness and good health to all the inhabitants of the area. Over time, this became very famous and everyone enjoyed the blessing of the cure.
One day a stranger learned of this fact, and the greed came to him when he learned that this magic stone was of gold. Thus, it was how this stranger decided to make a plan to seize the Curamilla; and I wait hidden in the bushes, to appear the mysterious young woman. But at the moment the young woman appeared, the stranger fell madly in love with her, forgetting to catch Curamilla; and so they both fell in love, and went to live in lands far away never to return. When the young woman did not return to the lake, the cure was very sad, she decided not to emerge again in this lake, and because of that she was never seen again the curamilla, and from that moment her location is unknown.
Since that day, many people, including the Calcus, sorcerers of Chiloe and Machis, have sought the Curamillla or a piece of it. But the motif of the Machis is not greed; as they know that the person who owns a piece of Curamilla, will obtain for him and the people close to him, the happiness and other gifts that this magical stone provides.
