The train of the Smurfs

The train of the smurfs (in the original French Le Petit Train des Schtroumpfs) is a comic that appears in the fifteenth album of the Smurfs, made by Peyo in 1991.

It was published as a complement to The Strange Awakening of the Lazy Smurf with The Smurf and his Dragon, The Smurfs and A Mole among the Smurfs. Argument

The Smurfs bring supplies to the Smurf Village, and they ask the Smurf Manitas for an invention that allows them to transport things in an easier way. Smurf Manitas builds his invention in the forest while asking Smurf Fortachon to stand guard to keep the other smurfs from snooping on his work. When Smurf Manitas finishes his invention, he teaches it: a locomotive to transport supplies. The work of building the rails falls on the other smurfs.

The sorcerer Gargamel finds the rails and tries to follow the locomotive, but a tunnel prevents him, and the tunnel is too long for Gargamel to find the other side. Then, Gargamel installs a diversion rail so that, when the Smurfs return, the diversion sends them to Gargamel's house. The Great Smurf, who returns from the house of the wizard Homnibus on the back of a stork, watches this and frees the smurfs. When they escape, the Smurfs create a new diversion of the rails to make Gargamel run in circles around a tree while believing that he is following the rails to the Smurf Village.
