The Ligurian Republic used the traditional Genoese flag, white with the cross of St. George in red. This flag is not mentioned in the constitution of December 2, 1798, but in the Constitution of June 26, 1802 where it is also called "old flag." It reappears in the legislation of July 28, 1814.
