Barboncito


Barboncito (Hástiin Dághá, man with mustache) was a warrior leader and Navajo spiritual singer. He was born in 1820 and died in 1871.

In 1846 he went to war against the Mexicans and signed an agreement with Alexander W. Doniphan. After an unfortunate incident, during 1860 in Fort Defiance (Arizona) gave support to the revolt of Manuelito that became open war until 1866, being one of the leaders with his brother Delgadito. He was one of the signatories of the Treaty of 1868 and was the supreme leader of the Navajo from 1866 to 1870.
