Tennessee (film)


Tennessee is a 2008 dramatic film produced by Lee Daniels. The Canadian rights were acquired by VVS Films, while the Americans were taken over by Lee Daniels Entertainment. The premiere of the film took part in the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival, held on April 26.

Mariah Carey co-wrote the song Right to Dream with Willie Nelson and performed it with harmonica player Mickey Raphael to include it in the film's soundtrack. Synopsis

Carter (Adam Rothenberg) and his younger brother Ellis (Ethan Peck) embark on a journey from New Mexico to Tennessee to find their father, a journey that could leave the life of the second on the balance. Along the way they meet Krystal (Mariah Carey), an aspiring singer who leaves her controlling husband (Lance Reddick) to join them on the journey.
