Theodor Plieninger (born April 10, 1856 in Stuttgart, Germany, January 13, 1930 in Frankfurt am Main) was a German chemical industrialist. Edit LifeQualtext
Plieninger started his career as a trainee in a chemical company in Stuttgart. After several stays abroad, he joined the Chemische Fabrik Griesheim in 1891, the board of directors of which was in 1893. After the merger with the Chemischen Fabrik Elektron in 1898 Plieninger became general manager (chairman of the board of directors) of Griesheim-Elektron Aktiengesellschaft.
He headed the negotiations for the founding of the I.G. Colors, on whose board he entered the same year and to which he belonged until his death in 1930. Between 1923 and 1928, Plieninger was a member of the Supervisory Board of Metallbank; from 1928, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Metallgesellschaft. Honors Edit the source text
Plieninger was awarded the honorary doctorate of TH Stuttgart. Plieningerstraße is named after him in the Frankfurt Westend. Single-level Edit source text
