Council for the Environment
The Environment Council is a formation of the Council of the European Union and is composed of the Environment Ministers of the Member States of the European Union. The Council formation, which is held approximately four times a year, deals with current and long-term issues of EU environmental and EU climate policy. The ordinary legislative procedure applies to these areas, so decisions are taken by a qualified majority and adopted with the participation of the European Parliament.
