Aune made his debut in the World Cup in Asiago, in December 2013, where he finished in the 51st place. He had his next assignment in the World Cup in March 2014 at the Sprint in Drammen, where he became 38th. At the Norwegian Championships in Røros in January 2015, he finished second in the qualifying round, but finished the competition as the 20th.
