Great steers at Groß Hesebeck
The large-scale steers at Groß Hesebeck were two megalithic grave sites of the Neolithic funnel-beaker culture near Groß Hesebeck, a district of Bad Bevensen in the district of Uelzen (Lower Saxony). They were destroyed in the 19th century. A tomb was found to the north of the village, right next to a group of grave mounds, including a remarkably large stone. The second tomb lay west of it, likewise with a group of grave mounds with a large stone. In the 1840s, the Great Steinglers were documented by Georg Otto Carl von Estorff, but not described in detail. There is no information on orientation, dimensions and type of trench. The card marks only show that they had rectangular hump beds. Edit source text
